The historic town of Southport is only 8 miles from these beaches with the gorgeous Cape Fear River waterfront and many specialty shops, restaurants, and museums. St. James Plantation with 4 golf courses is also within minutes of Oak Island and Caswell Beach.
Bald Head Island is accessable only by ferry boat and is across the river from Southport. You'll find golf, beaches, shopping and restaurants on Bald Head Island.
